As part of our continual effort to expand the support we offer clients, Sherwood, McCormick, & Robert is proud to announce that Darcy Worth recently joined the firm. An experienced and adept attorney, Darcy is focused on aiding clients with estate planning, probate, and general business transactions.
Education
Darcy was born and raised in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University (OSU) and earned her marketing degree from the Spears School of Business, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was selected as the Spears School of Business Outstanding Scholar (Raymond D. Thomas Award).
Darcy then attended OSU’s Moritz College of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. During her time in law school, Darcy was a member of the Education Law Society and Ohio State Business Law Journal, and participated in the American Bar Association’s Mediation and Negotiations Competition.
In addition to being licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, Darcy is licensed to mediate in Ohio Small Claims Court and Ohio Divorce Court. This allows her to understand all sides of a legal issue, not only from the perspective of an attorney, but also from that of a mediator.
Experience
Darcy began her legal career at a financial management company, where she handled estate and tax issues for high-net-worth clients. This experience gave her invaluable insight into the financial and legal knowledge needed to guide clients through intensely complex situations. With her background, Darcy was the perfect addition to Sherwood, McCormick, & Robert.
In our firm, Darcy primarily handles estate planning and probate for clients. She has a unique talent for helping clients prepare for their future. To that end, Darcy has recently been hosting Estate Planning 101 classes. The community-based course is designed to educate and inform the attendees on the basics of estate planning. It includes information on wills and trusts, power of attorneys, healthcare proxies, and more. Her goal is to help others learn about the importance of estate planning and how it can benefit every family.
