For the first time in several years, the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Women In Law Annual Conference was held in Tulsa. Sherwood and Robert is proud to have been a Bronze Sponsor of the sold-out event, which was hosted at the historic Mayo Hotel in downtown Tulsa. Meredith Lindaman and Cheryl Jackson attended to represent our firm and be part of this important day.
The conference featured many speakers and panelists, addressing topics such as inclusion and diversity, career transitions, running a law practice as a business, and ethical pitfalls of utilizing artificial intelligence.
The Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Awards were presented during the conference's luncheon to honor five women who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession and lit the way for other women.
The awards were followed by the keynote speaker, Asha Rangappa, a former FBI Special Agent and an Assistant Dean and Senior Lecturer at the Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs and a former Associate Dean at Yale Law School. Ms. Rangappa’s topic was “The Mechanics of Complicity,” and she spoke about the complicity of lawyers in authoritarian regimes and how we can inoculate against this trend.
The event was an unquestioned success and our firm looks forward to supporting next year’s conference.
